The Holistic Hypnosis Weight Loss Program
Why hypnosis? When it comes to dieting and exercising for weight loss, will power is pretty unreliable.You have to work against a lot of internal resistance, and will power usually fades before the new diet or exercise plan can become part of your normal routine.Hypnosis is a way of working directly with this internal resistance, so the part of your mind that does not seem to want to change, is working with you rather than against you.
The part of your mind that resists your diet and exercise plans is located in your subconscious mind.This is where your eating habits and automatic behaviors reside. Hypnosis works by taking you to a place where you can make positive changes in your subconscious mind, leading to an automatic change in your eating patterns. You will also experience a positive change in your thinking and self-image.
When I work with people on weight loss, they typically tell me things like, “wow, I am just not snacking at work anymore”, or “I don’t have food cravings after I have eaten dinner”, or “I am eating reasonable portions”.This is because they have experienced an internal change in their relationship with food.

The Program
This structured program is only 5 sessions over 6 weeks in most cases. During the first session we will talk about your weight history and weight loss goals. You will watch a DVD on hypnosis. An introductory hypnosis session follows, where we will directly address some of your eating habits. After the 2nd session, you will take home a very effective guided hypnosis CD that you should listen to three times a week for 4 weeks. We can also teach you self-hypnosis so you can continue to reinforce your success.

Delmar NY Why Diets Have Not Worked in the Past If you have tried diet programs in the past, you will be pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness of hypnosis for weight loss. Regular diets do not take into account factors such as unconscious associations, unhelpful thinking patterns, food quality, activity level, and other related issues. Diet programs are often quite simplistic, rely too much on will power and don’t address important underlying issues. Therefore over time they are ineffective.

What About Eating Disorders?
Hypnosis should not be used as a stand-alone treatment for eating disorders.According to Wikipedia, “eating disorders refer to a group of conditions defined by abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individual’s physical and mental health.Bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating disorder are the most common specific forms in the United States”.
If you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, or suspect that you may have an eating disorder, I can refer you to a licensed mental health professional that specializes in the treatment of these illnesses.
